API Hub integration

Show data from any REST API in a table, chart, or card.

API Hub is UniDeck's way to reach systems without a built-in widget. You set up a REST request once, with its method, headers, parameters, body, authentication, and pagination, and then show the response in an Advanced Table, Chart, or Card. Requests run from your browser, so they reach any API your browser can reach, including internal ones on your network.

What UniDeck reads

  • Any JSON response from a REST endpoint
  • GET, POST, PUT, PATCH, and DELETE requests
  • Query parameters, headers, a request body, and page or cursor pagination
  • No authentication, basic authentication, or a bearer token

Available widgets

  • Advanced Table
  • Advanced Chart
  • Advanced Card

Use cases

  • Put signup counts or service health from your own API on a wall display
  • Chart a metric from any SaaS tool that has a REST API
  • Show a table from an internal admin endpoint next to your team's tools

How to set it up

  1. Open API Hub from the Tools menu
  2. Enter the method, the URL, and any headers, parameters, or body
  3. Choose the authentication and test the request
  4. Add an Advanced Table, Chart, or Card widget and pick the saved request

Questions teams ask

  • Where do API Hub requests run?

From your browser, not through UniDeck's servers. The API you call has to allow browser requests (CORS).

  • Where are my API credentials kept?

Saved requests, including their credentials, are stored with your UniDeck account. When you share a dashboard that uses a request, the request travels with it, so use keys with the least access you need.

  • Does API Hub support GraphQL?

You can send a GraphQL query as a POST request with a JSON body. There's no GraphQL-specific editor.
