Slack integration

Slack activity, files, search, presence, and your status, on your dashboard.

UniDeck connects to Slack through OAuth, and you can connect more than one Slack account. Six widgets cover activity, files, search, presence, your status, and Do Not Disturb. The Status and Do Not Disturb widgets are the only ones that change anything in Slack, and only when you use them.

What UniDeck reads

  • Activity from your Slack workspace
  • Files shared in Slack
  • Search across Slack
  • Who is present
  • Your status and Do Not Disturb settings

Available widgets

  • Slack Activity
  • Slack Files
  • Slack Search
  • Slack Presence
  • Slack Status
  • Slack Do Not Disturb

Use cases

  • Keep an eye on Slack without keeping it open
  • Set a focus status and snooze notifications from your dashboard

How to set it up

  1. Add a Slack widget from the widget gallery
  2. Sign in with Slack and approve the requested access
  3. Connect another Slack account if you work in more than one workspace
  4. Place the widget and save the dashboard

Questions teams ask

  • Can UniDeck post messages to Slack?

No. The Slack widgets don't send messages. The Status and Do Not Disturb widgets change your own status and notification settings when you use them.

  • Can I connect more than one Slack workspace?

Yes. Connect each account once and pick it per widget.

  • What does my team see on a shared dashboard?

Members see what the Slack widgets show from your account, and they can use the Status and Do Not Disturb widgets on it. Keep those two widgets off shared dashboards if that's not what you want.
